Position Description:

Regular FT position with global biotech company in San Francisco east bay.  Highly regarded organization to work in; values performers and cultivates open communications that allow for differing and challenging opinions.

Role is to provide pivotal consultation services, analyses, and statistical reports to research departments.  

Other activities; work independently to perform file conversions, data import and transfers, generate reports (including tables and graphs) as well as perform review and QC of deliverables for less senior staff.  Additionally assist in study design and perform data analysis. Collaborate with internal staff and external consultants. Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria. Develop systematic documentation of methods and results, including programming. Write the statistical methodology section(s) of protocols and study reports. Present annually within dept and research org; externally when appropriate. Share in activities of statistical education within and between departments.  

Must be able to lead and manage statistical component of  projects  and deliver on-time and quality results; look for opportunities to increase value to the organization through personal goals and objectives; take managed risks and partner with management for guidance and demonstrate flexibility in identifying solutions.

Educational and Other Requirements:

• Master's in statistics or related discipline with 5 to 7 years experience OR
• PhD in statistics or related discipline with 0 to 2 yrs of experience.
• Experience with MS Office; SAS, S-Plus or R.
• Knowledge of scripting language (e.g. Perl, Python); SQL.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to express technical results and procedures, and complex information.
• Travel up to 5%.
